Searching for a Test
Accepted Search Terms
Accepted search techniques include: Gene, Disorder, Test Code, Test Name and Lab Name. When looking for a specific product, test code and a combination of lab name and test name are the recommended search techniques. For general category searches, gene and disorder will most likely be the best search terms.
Top Matches
The ‘Products’ and ‘Categories’ sections show the top 5 most relevant products or categories, respectively, that match the search term (more product specific better the results). For a complete list of either the products or categories, click the ‘More’ button next to the header.
Product Matches
Shows all individual products linked to the search term. Click on the individual product for more detailed information (Infantile Epilepsy Panel shown in screenshot). Preferred labs and products will be listed first.
Category Matches
Access all categories tied to the search term. Users can dive deeper into specific products by clicking on the requested category line (EFHC1 Sequencing Tests selected in screenshot). Click on the Compare icons then the Compare button to view Category Compare.
Using the Filters
Filter by Lab Name and/or Test Type Begin by searching for the desired disorder or gene name. Apply the Laboratory filter by typing in the lab name then selecting the requested lab. Then turn on the Test Type filter to select from options including single, panel or exome.
Filter by Target To identify all products with specific targets in them, once the search results are listed, enter all requested targets into the filter. To do so, begin typing in the gene name, then selecting the desired gene when it pops up as an option. This filter will display only those products matching the filtered targets 100%.
Preferred Product Alert
The Preferred Product Alert populates when a user attempts to order a product where there is a preferred product in the category. Users can select the products to compare by clicking on the respective compare icons. To order the chosen product, click ‘Close’ in the modal then click the ‘Order’ button.
